Latest Fishing Reports

The last week has been tough to say the least between the weather and the Super Moon on Sat. we continue to Striper fish but had dismal results at best, however, some nice Bluefishing was to be had.....Blues from 3 lbs to 12 Lbs were caught on the Jig and Troll as well as a couple on Bait. Once this Moon is past us a couple of days, i think the Stripers will bounce back in Full Force!!!!!!

give us a call as we have some P.M. AVAILIBILITY this Thursday through Saturday May 10th thru 12th!

the Striper fishing has been tough to say the least up around the hook lately....gotta really work for these fish but if you love to tangle with the Bluefish, this is the time you want to jump on board for a trip....Bluefish to 15 lbs are all over the area and they are chewing their heads off!.....the Striper fishing should start to rebound as this weather settles down this week....call to reserve a trip in May or jump on one of our open boats to get in on the action!!!!!

Had Tom McColligan and crew from Scranton Pa Fire Dept onboard today for a shot at some Striped ones....trolled the outgoing for 3 hours with good results boating 4 nice fish to 32 inches, 4 throwbacks, one keeper dropped at the boat and 3 short strikes....as the tide dropped out, so did the action. Trolled all over the bay ,set up on the pik for an hour chunking and clamming...trolled again....didnt matter, marked fish but no takers. The boys had a great time tho and it was our pleasure having them aboard. Thanks Guys!

The Blackfish bite has been solid in the Sandy Hook area when we have been able to get out in between the weather . Alot of just short fish, along with the nice Roaster size 3-4 lb fish coming over the rails. Green Crabs have been the ticket!....we have some open dates we are available for charter or open boat for some Blackfishing....along with that, we will stop on any working birds to throw a jig down and see if any stripers are home.

Call to book a charter or get on an open boat!

Had David Kronen and company out for some Sandy Hook Striper Fishing....Left Highlands in the cover of darkness making our way out to our first spot. Drifted the area for almost 2 hours without a touch....great marks on the finder but they wouldn't chew...took a ride to spot # 2 and it was game on....hookups almost every drift with some nice fish coming up over the rail....stayed there for rest of the trip...the guys did great landing bass to 30lbs and a bluefish. Thanks again for an awesome trip David,Matt and Steve!

Right Now the Bottom Fishing is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!
Porgies,Blackfish & Sea Bass (which must be returned to the Sea) is some of the best it has been in years!...we are sailing for Bottom Fish Daily in conjunction with Striped Bass....Check our open boat Listings on Home Page for Dates or Call today for a Charter with some Friends!

Had Peter Bardo and crew out yesterday and with the conditions, we opted to go striper fishing instead of bottomfishing and it was a good move. Set up on our spot early and had action right away which continued for a good 2 hours of a steady pick of fish. While most fish were in the 24-27.5 inch range we did manage a few keepers for the box. We are now Striper Fishing every day with some bottom fishing mixed in of the bass don't want to co operate.

With the storms and the hurricane, the Fluke fishing has really tapered off. Sea Bass Fishing is closed until Nov 1st so we will concentrate our efforts on Porgies and Blackfish Through October.
Starting Oct 1st We will also start combo fishing Bottom & Striped Bass Fishing using Eels and Clams again so get your trip reserved while time permits.
Our last few trips have been very productive on the Fluke and Sea Bass Fishing.....we are seeing a consistant Keeper Fuke Fishery and some nice Sea Bass thrown into the mix on our Combo Fluke/Sea Bass Trips.
Fluke upto 6.5 lbs have not been uncommon along with Sea Bass upto 3 lbs. also some Blackfish have been caught along with a few Ling. i expect the Porgies to show up by the end of August as well !

Left the Highlands at 0600 on board with the John Kinnecom Party...made some bait right out of the River with the Demons all over the bunker. Proceeded around the Hook and drifted a couple of clam boats with no success...proceeded south and saw a huge boil...stopped and put out the livies and had instant action with Blues to 10lbs and all the freaking 4 ft Dogs you could want to make the arms burn. Proceeded south again for some Sea Bass..the bottom is littered with these fish...only problem is they forgot to grow...after about 50 shorts, we went deeper looking for bigger fish...found them, but of the FLAT variety...nothing wrong with that!!!! proceeded to spank the fluke to 6.5 lbs and nothing shorter than 20. Finished up in the channels for another 2 quick keepers to end the day!....bergall strips were producing in the 60-65 ft range today. Great day on the water and the guys caught their fill! Thanks Again John and crew!
